Reading Margalit

Avishai Margalit, born in 1939, grew up in Jerusalem, and is now professor emeritus at Hebrew University. Margalit has written on the philosophy of language, philosophy of politics, ethics and philosophy of religion.

During our meetings we will discuss the basic themes of Margalita’s philosophy, i.e., idolatry, the decent society, compromise, the ethics of memory, betrayal. The work of this Israeli philosopher is relatively little known in Poland; Reading Margalit opens up the possibility of an interdisciplinary discussion of his work.
