At the same time, we share in the pain of the families and loved ones of those murdered during the Hanukkah celebration on Bondi Beach near Sydney.
We also observe with deepening concern the spreading narrative of hate in Poland, in which Jews, especially Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidim, are excluded from the Polish cultural community and dehumanized.
Lest we forget that “the superiority of wisdom over folly is as great as the superiority of light over darkness” (Ecclesiastes 2:13). May the light of Hanukkah illuminate our December darkness.
