Rejza Turner is a doctoral student at the University of Wisconsin in the history department. She holds an MA in Yiddish language and culture from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and her research primarily focuses on the New York Yiddish press of the 1920s as a forum for debate about the ideas and practical visions of Jewish political philosophy. She teaches Yiddish at the Taube Department of Jewish Studies at Wrocław University and elsewhere (e.g., the intensive Summer Seminar of the Center for Yiddish Culture in Warsaw). She is a literary translator from Yiddish into English and is currently translating the novel Chaim Gravitzer by Fischel Schneerson, as well as an anthology of humor writing by Joseph Tunkel (Der Tunkeler).
