– graduate of the Faculty of History at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. Mikołaj’s research focuses on the history of Jews in the Old Polish period (16th – 18th century), including the organization and self-government of former Jewish communities, the functioning of Jewish brotherhoods and relations between them. He is also interested in the palaeography and codicology of Hebrew manuscripts from the Middle Ages and modern times.
He studied at the University of Tel AvivIn the 2018/2019 academic year thanks to a scholarship funded by the Taube Department of Jewish Studies. That same year, he received a scholarship from the Hebrew Manuscript Studies University of Oxford to take part in a summer workshop on palaeography and codicology of Hebrew manuscripts Hebrew Manuscript Studies: Paleography, Codicology and Art History at Bodleian Library.
Mikołaj is writing his dissertation on Jewish Charity Brotherhoods in the Former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from the Beginning of the 18th Century to the First Half of the 19th Century. Social, Political and Cultural Changes under the supervision of Prof. Marcin Wodziński.
