Two Grants Awarded for International Cooperation

The Taube Department of Jewish Studies is pleased and honored to announce that it has been awarded two grants from the Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe. The first three year grant will support an ongoing doctoral seminar, organized jointly with the Polin Museum and other centers for Jewish studies in Poland, that brings together young scholars from various fields and academic institutions from all over Poland. The second grant, also funded for three years, funds creation of a digital database of „prenumeranten,” i.e. subscribers of the Hebrew prints between 1700 and 1950. The latter project will be conducted in cooperation with rabbi Elli Fischer of the University of Haifa and Moshe Schorr from the Technion in Haifa together with Prof. Moshe Lavee of the University of Haifa, who is responsible for the E-lijah Lab and Digital Humanities ecosystem in which the project is anchored.
We look forward to working on these invaluable grants with our distinguished colleagues in Poland and abroad thanks to the generous funding of our sponsor.
